Contents include, a historical sketch of Pomona College, Pomona College past and present, faculty in 1930-1931, trustees, Marston quadrangle, the humanities, typical classrooms, the library, the sciences, laboratory of physics, Blanchard Park, the Frank Parkhurst Brackett Observatory, Memorial Court, the men's campus, the women's campus, the student union, the fine arts, the marine biological laboratory, the James S. Edwards retreat at Bluff Lake and more. Copy has a large fold out black and white photograph of the college with a map. A small rubbed spot on the front cover. Pages are very clean and complete. Binding is tight.

This copy contains John Swett's famous speech in which he calls for free public education. In this copy is a 2 sided pull out. 1 side shows a diagram of harmonious education, the second shows a diagram of the psychology of childhood. Light foxing on the edges. Corners are slightly worn. A previous owner wrote their name in black ink on the inside of the front cover. Pages are clean and complete. Binding is tight.

1883 No Binding Collectible-Very Good Book 
Autograph letter signed (5 1/2 x 8 3/4 inch) 3 pages, on Thomas and Abbott stationary, and dated September 7, 1883, Boston, Mass. 1/3 of the last page below Abbott's signature is torn off. The letter is to a Mrs. Greenhalge about settling her father's estate, including finding a buyer for the patents to her father's inventions. Nathan Abbott (1854-1941) received his law degree from Boston University in 1881. He later taught at Michigan (1891-92) and Northwestern (1892-94). He went on to become the founding dean of the Stanford University Law School.

On both the card and the mounting is written the score, "Olympia 19, Auburn 14". Presumably this is Auburn High School in Auburn, Washington, approximately 40 miles from Olympia.

This pamphlet contains the calendar, instructors and courses for the seventh school year, 1919-1920. This was to be the last school year, as the school closed because the University of California, Berkeley had begun a course of instruction in Librarianship. This volume also lists the graduates of the California State Library School.

He was one of the driving forces behind the Institutes transition to become the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech). Upon retirement, he moved to Sacramento and began giving lectures. This item is promotional literature for his lectures, in the form of a newspaper article. Information about arranging for a lecture by Scherer is on the back.
