This special edition of The New San Francisco Magazine covers The Great 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and the aftermath. The main article provides a summary of the natural disaster that hit the city on April 18, 1906 and the subsequent fires that erupted. Included are numerous photographs of San Francisco before and after the earthquake and fires. Small black and white maps of the city and other cities to be hit by similar disasters are also shown. In addition to the main article and smaller articles in the back, the following are included: "'Get Busy!'" by Governor George C. Pardee, "Earthquake and the Weather Bureau" by Professor Alexander G. Jubal Anderson Early. Mr. Craig came to Oregon in 1853 via Panama, acquiring the language of Greek, Hebrew, Latin and French, without a teacher, before he was sixteen. "Diary of Mrs. Amelia Stewart Knight, An Oregon Pioneer of 1853 (who's black and white photograph is in the beginning of this copy). Pages are very clean and complete. Binding is tight.
