Accompanied by the February 1966 issue of the UCLA Librarian with an illustrated article by Wayland on playing cards. She divides these early cards into three categories: educational (astronomical, geographical, heraldic, mathematical instruments), political (Reign of James II, Horrid Popish Plot), and pastime (fortune telling, musical, proverbs).
