Cover has evidence of wear and some folding, some pencil marks listing pay due on the farm on several memo pages. Unusual momento for a service offered to the farmers before WWI. White & Co. are General Agents for the Pacific Coast for D. Appleton & Co., publishers. The harsh letter to a J.B. Hickman urges him to work more diligently, "if you show energy you can get a large number of orders." Schools have money now to buy the sets, so sign them up now before they spend it elsewhere.
