Original illustrated wrappers. 6 x 9 inches. 32 pages. Signed on the back cover by silet movie actress Ruth Roland (b. 1892, d. 1937) and actor Ivan Lebedeff (b. 1894, d. 1953). Some moisture staining at top of some interior pages and chip at top of page 18 / 19. The Cathay Circle Theater was a major Hollywood theater when it first opened in 1926 and it hosted many movie premiers over the years. It was demolished in 1969. The theatre very much tried to tie into its California paqst in its interior decorati9ons, using paintings, sculptures, and photographs of California historical places and people. The booklet lists and has photographs of the men who designed, built and owned the theatre. The artists who's paintings and sculptures adorn the theatre were Alson Clark, Frank Tenney Johnson and Henry Lion. There are 19 pages showing the artists' work.

No Binding Collectible-Very Good Ephemera 
A black and white photograph of Merle Alcock. No date, circa 1915-1920s. 7 1/4" x 9 1/4." Original stamp on the back says, "Merle Alcock, Contralto." Photograph is clean and undamaged except for some very slight rippling. Merle Alcock (1884 or 1890-1975) was an American contralto singer who performed with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, and Philadelphia Symphony. In 1915, Alcock appeared with the New York Symphony Orchestra where she became known as a contralto. She gained much recognition and performed at the New York Metropolitan Opera for several years. Alcock was married to tenor singer Bechtel Alcock.

Portrait of Carolus Duran (1837-1917) was a an award winning French portrait painter and sculptor. He was especially regarded for his portraits of women and his stylish depictions of members of high society. Photograph has a very small spot on the lower left. Clean copy.

The photograph shows two people seated atop some ruins of the ancient fishing village of Capernaum in Galilee. Webster & Albee was a publisher of stereoscopic views. The company was established in 1880 and operated until 1884 when it was succeeded by Woodward & Albee.

"Mosque of Sultan Ahmed, Constantinople" written on back in ink. The photograph shows an image of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque or Blue Mosque in what was then known as Constantinople (now Istanbul), Turkey. The Blue Mosque sits next to the famous Hagia Sophia. In the foreground, the trees and grounds surrounding the mosque are shown as well as a person walking and what may be a horse next to a cart.

Photo is of glamorous buffet with mirrors and a beautiful chandelier. The house belonged to William C. Ralston founder of the Bank of California and financier of th Comstock Lode. Built in 1868, it has survived 2 major earthquakes.

Built in 1879, the Tabor Block stood on the corners of 16th & Larimer Streets in downtown Denver. At one time is housed a drug store, a diamond and jewelery store of James P Tryner and ticket offices for the Kansas Pacific, Colorado Central and Union Pacific Railroads. It was demolished in 1972. Part of the Popular Series. Clean photograph.

Powell Etching is of a Native American man surrounded by 13 different birds, including a bald eagle, crow, Canadian goose, sparrow, owl, woodpecker, hawk and others. Ace Powell (1912-1978) was a famous and prolific Montana artist. He was a painter, etcher and sculptor of Western imagery, such as Native Americans, cowboys and horses.
