Red paper covered boards with black and white cartoons on front and back cover. Significant rubbing and chipping on edges and corners, some splitting at front joint. Inscribed on front fly paper in blue pencil, "To Vernon Churchill With All the Best Jimmy Halto". James Cecil (Jimmy) Hatlo (1897-1963) was an American cartoonist who drew the strip "They'll Do It Every Time" from 1929 until his death in 1963. He would take ideas from readers and give them credit in his strip. At its peak, the strip ran in over 400 newspapers. This is a collection of his strips with an introduction by Dan Parker, Sports Editor of the New York Daily Mirror.
