Original publisher's brown cloth binding. 5 1/4" x 8 1/8." 324 pages, complete. Lacking front and back end papers. Spine has the title in relief only (no color on the title). The spine and edges of the book are chipped. Staining and foxing. Langworthy's personal account of his travels to California beginning from Galena, Illinois. He details many observations of his trip such as California's flora and fauna, the mining industry, and gambling halls. The book concludes with his return home via Nicaragua.
