Original publisher's green and violet-brown cloth binding. Dust wrapper is beige and has blue text. 6" x 9 1/4." Thirty-two pages, complete. Gilt lettering on spine. Warren's Olde Style paper (watermarks visible on pages) from S. D. Warren Company. Not price-clipped. Book is very clean with tight binding. Dust wrapper is clean overall; has very minimal foxing on the front. Inscription on one of front free endpapers from former owner. Gilean (or Gillian) Douglas (1900-1993) was a Canadian nature writer, poet, photojournalist, environmentalist, feminist, historian, and politician. Throughout her life, she spent much time experiencing the outdoors from the Cascades to Cortes Island. Her observations of the natural world and her familiarity with nature can be seen in this book's poems.
