The title translates into English as "The Art of Living Rightly" and a former owner has written that in ink on the title page. Former owner's signature on front end paper. These essays originally appeared in Harper's Magazine in Curtis's column "Easy Chair" and are on (as the preface says) "vital questions of hygiene, courtesy and morality."
