Original publicity photograph (6 x 8 inch) upper body photograph of Ms Garden wearing a fur coat. Mary Garden (1874-1967) was a Scottish Operatic Soprano. Famous on the French and American opera stage she gained fame first in France at the Opera-Comique and later went to the United States gaining fame in Chicago first at the Chicago Opera Association (director for one year) and later the Chicago Civic Opera till 1930. She appeared in two silent films and record over forty discs of her music between 1903 and 1929. She wrote an Autobiography - MARY GARDEN'S STORY in 1951. Fine clean copy.
