Circa 1880s. Dimensions 11 x 7 inches. Black and brown ink, vignette of steam locomotive running by a lake, and decorative border. No. 1394, not issued, no stamps or signatures. The New York and Northern Railway Company emerged in 1887 after the New York, Westchester and Putnam Company went into receivership and was reorganized. In 1894, J. P. Morgan reorganized it again. It eventually became the Putman Division of the New York Central Railroad.
