Two pages. 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches. No place or date, but Baltimore, 1860's. Anne Moncure Crane (b. 1838, d. 1872) was an American novelist. Her work gained notice because of its exploration of female sexuality. Her work also is thought to haave influenced Henry James. In this letter to her friend Eugene Didier (1838-1913) she asks that Didier accompany her as escort for an evening to be spent at a Mr. Wymon's home. Didier was an author and critic and became an authority on Edgar Allan Poe.
