Knight's conviction for child molestation in San Francisco Superior Court and argues against his appeal. Knight, age 57, had been convicted of molesting a nine-year-old neighborhood girl in his basement on 20th Street in San Francisco. This molestation is briefly described. Knight's appeal is that during his first trial, the testimony of two other girls, who also claimed to have been molested, prejudiced the jury against him. He felt these testimonies should not have been allowed because they implied a disposition on his part towards such behavior. The state, citing legal precedents, argues that the testimony of the two other girls established Knight's intent to molest and the preconceived design of his action. The state also argues there is enough additional evidence against Knight that even without the testimony of the two other girls, the jury would have convicted him anyway.
