This is a beautiful photograph that shows the Flora und Botanischer Garten Koln (or Flora park) in Cologne. "Koln" (Cologne) is printed at the top. Rest of title printed beneath photograph. "Verlag v. Rommler & Jonas, K. S. Hof-Photogr., Dresden, 1892" printed at the bottom. Rommler & Jonas was a German art print shop and publishing company that was co-founded in 1871 by Emil Rommler (1842-1941), a photographer, and Leopold Erasmus Jonas (1839-?), an accountant. Rommler had received his photographic training from his father in Chemnitz and Joseph Albert in Munich. The company also employed other photographers and became well-known for its high-quality photographic prints called collotypes or albertypes that often depicted cityscapes. The company closed in 1945 during World War II.
