Original brochure printed on white paper in the style of a dust wrapper containing an advertisement for a book by Rudolf Eucken. No date, circa 1909. 5" x 7 3/4." Four pages, complete. One leaf folded in half and printed on all sides. Black and white plate on front panel, complete. This plate is a portrait photograph of Rudolf Eucken. A back flap is included to mimic the appearance of a dust wrapper. The inside of the back flap is a blank order form. The brochure is very clean and intact. A Fine copy. This advertisement is for Rudolf Eucken's The Meaning and Value of Life, a philosophical book on the titular subject. The edition advertised is published by Adam & Charles Black. The interior pages include reprints of a couple of the book's pages including the Translator's Preface and Page 129, the latter of which discusses Christian Reconstruction and the relation between modernity and Christian denominations, namely, Catholicism and Protestantism. The back panel advertises three of Eucken's other books.
