Original publisher's red cloth binding with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. No date, circa 1930s-1940s. 7 3/4" x 11." 524 pages, complete. Many black and white illustrations, complete. Alphabetical Index in the back. Pages and covers are very clean and intact overall. Covers have slight wear with rubbing in the upper-left corner of the front cover, upper-right corner of the back cover, and along the spine. Small marks and scuffing on front and back covers. This is a trade catalog with listings of various supplies including drills, benches, brooms, brushes, and thermometers, among many others. On the title page, "Railway and Mill Supplies Division Offices" are listed with the address, "452 Communipaw Avenue, Jersey City, N. J." Executive offices are at the "Chrysler Building, (135 East 42nd St.,) New York City, N. Y." The cable address is "Cognition, N. Y." Introduction page includes the following: "It is not possible to compress into the pages of this book the story of the organization the book represents. Manning, Maxwell & Moore, Incorporated (MMM) was founded in 1881 by Henry S. Manning, Eugene L. Maxwell, and Charles Arthur Moore as a railroad engineering supply company. The company's predecessor was H. S. Manning & Company in New York which had sold a variety of machine tools. MMM was acquired by Dresser Industries in 1964. In 2010, Dresser Industries was bought out by General Electric.
