A small broadside with black-and-white illustrations announcing awards given to the Sperry Flour Company for their exhibit at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, California. The following is some of the text from the broadside: "The Grand Prize, The Highest Possible Award: Sperry Drifted-Snow Flour," "The following well-known Sperry Products Received Individual Gold Medals: Sperry Encore Pancake Flour, Sperry Buckwheat Flour (self Rising), [...]," "The Sperry Exhibit was awarded the Gold Medal for the Best Exhibit in the Palace of Food Products," "Medal of Honor: Sperry Cereal Breakfast Foods; Sperry Germea, Sperry Rolled Oats, [...]," "Gold Medal Sperry Surelay Poultry Foods [...]," and "Also, A Medal for the Famous Sperry Stock Food Suremilk." The Sperry Flour Company was founded by Austin Spery around 1852 in Stockton, California. The company enjoyed many years of success in the following years and another mill was opened in Spokane, Washington in 1918. The Sperry Flour Co. eventually merged with General Mills and was called General Mills, Sperry Division. Due to a decrease in demand, the original Sperry flour mill closed in 1965. The Spokane mill was sold to VWR United in 1966.
