The company enjoyed many years of success in the following years and another mill was opened in Spokane, Washington in 1918. The Sperry Flour Co. eventually merged with General Mills and was called General Mills, Sperry Division. Due to a decrease in demand, the original Sperry flour mill closed in 1965. The Spokane mill was sold to VWR United in 1966.
