Original lithograph card with a color illustration on front of a bucolic landscape with a creek winding down the center. Beautiful composition in which part of the illustration continues on the decorative rectangular border made of silver foil. No date, circa 1890s-1910s. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2." Card is very clean and intact except for slight age toning, offsetting on back, and minuscule wear to edges and corners. A Fine copy. This card bears some resemblance to trade cards, which are antique business cards and the predecessors of modern trading cards. Trade cards were most common during the late nineteenth century.
