Original letter handwritten in black ink on light blue paper. Datelined April 6, 1819 in Boston, Massachusetts. 8" x 13." One page. Letter is clean and intact overall but has faded to a light beige through age toning, a few small stains, and slight wear to extremities. A Very Good copy. In this letter, the writer's signature is not legible but appears to be a first name only. He writes to naval officials in Washington, D.C. to send him documentation as to the arrival and inspection of ship anchors his company has manufactured and shipped. The writer states that he needs these documents so he can be paid by the Naval Agent in Boston.
