Original black-and-white photo post card. Postcard is unused but has an ink inscription on back identifying the subject. The inscription reads, "George Chappell, Driver, Mesa, A. T. [Arizona Territory]." No date, circa 1907-1912 (c. 1907-1915 "PMC" stamp box design with two upturned triangles in top corners and two downturned triangles in bottom corners printed on back). 5 1/2" x 3 1/2." Postcard is very clean and intact except for light to moderate age toning on front and back, minuscule surface wear, a few wrinkles, and slight wear to extremities. A Very Good copy. A postcard showing a portrait of horse driver George Chappell and his team of horses pulling carts. They are on a dirt road with some trees and buildings visible in the background. A brother or relative of George, Henry Chappell, was also a horse driver in Mesa, Arizona Territory (AT). AT existed from 1863-1912.
