The main issue in this case is determining who has ownership of the estate. James G. Fair (1831-1894) was a businessman and one of the four "Silver Kings" (or, "Bonanza Kings") who struck it rich from the Comstock Lode. Adding to his wealth were his real estate and railroad investments. Fair also served as a United States Senator from Nevada from 1881-1887. Three of Fair's children are named in this case, Charles L. Fair, Theresa Fair Oelrichs, and Virginia Fair Vanderbilt.
