Original billhead printed and handwritten in black ink on light beige paper. Small black-and-white illustration printed at top. Datelined May 22, 1897 in Sacramento, California. A stamp shows this bill was paid June 15, 1897. 8 1/2" x 5 1/2." Billhead is very clean and intact except for slight age toning, two vertical fold lines, two small indentations slightly affecting text and illustration, two tiny chips not affecting text, and two small closed tears measuring about 1/2" each (neither affecting text).
